Healthcare

After a de-merger left this hospital in a state of uncertainty, they were able to align senior leaders around a unified vision and strategy…and they met 100% of their outcomes in the first year.

The Client

This teaching hospital in Ontario, Canada is affiliated with the University of Toronto and is dedicated to achieving leadership in women's health in an ambulatory care setting. They are the first and only independent ambulatory care hospital, as well as the only hospital with a primary focus on women's health, in Ontario. They lead the way in women’s health research and in training healthcare providers.

The Client’s Strategic Initiative
After the de-merger, the hospital organization sought to instill its leaders, the board and the community with a new and unified vision for the future in which they intended to blaze uncharted territory for ambulatory care and women’s health across the country and the world.

The Challenges
During this unsettling period, they recognized the need to align executives, department heads, doctors and administrators around a new future and strategies to realize it. As part of the national health care system they had to reinvent themselves while under the scrutiny of the public eye. At the same time, set the groundwork for a new modern building called “The Hospital of the Future”.
